Today. Today Was Sunny.
Monday 8 September 2008

Taken with camcorder, not bad quality eh?
Things I enjoyed today:
- The sun, the clouds, being too cold with an icy wind and erect nipples, the warm with near-sweatyness (only in England can the two be combined in one day – God bless this glorious meteorological schizophrenia).
- Losing myself in the textures of water and stones I was filming.
- Tuning my ears to the sounds around me and recording me walking and the streams being all stream-like… thinking how it would make amazing relaxation / ambiance sounds.
- Grinning as I drove “slow and sensibly” after getting away merely with suspicious looks from Police as I sped down to the bottom of my road, breaking harshly, having my body thrown forward in a “yes, I was speeding… oops, police” sort of way.
- Playing basketball around about 1/10th less rubbish than in the past.
- Listening to Vaggeli giving me tips about basketball: “When you shoot you need to be more precise and accurate”… (he says before throwing the ball from behind the hoop to hit the corner and have the ball rebound back at him).
- Using the steering wheel to control the beats of Mellann by The Flashbulb (see below to listen to song).
- Entertaining myself with the shadows the sun cast through my fingers on white table salt thing and getting excited about textures and colours, and in so thinking how cosy and amazing it would be to have a house designed like the China House.
- Singing to Αν Ήσουν Άγγελος (If You Were An Angel) by Βασίλης Καζούλης (see below to listen to song) with Aimilio thinking how awesome it is to have another Greek person to share good Greek summer music with.
- Enjoying a McFlurry (which has gone up sneakily by 20p! *sniff*) with Aimilio with the blues, yellows, reds and blacks of a proper summer sunset.
- Thinking how I am changing in ways which can never make me be again who I was yesterday or last year.
Mellann by The Flashbulb (song will auto-start).
Αν Ήσουν Άγγελος by Βασίλης Καζούλης (dedicated to Sofia)
Filming In High Definition
Saturday 6 September 2008
I bought the Canon VIXIA HV30 so I can begin experimenting with film, and of course, to film with Moira our final year university project, which we have called “From The Rubbish We Throw, We Eat“.

I will be practise filming tomorrow with Anthony in HDV, I need to educate myself a lot about the technology and implications / technical strains in the post-production stages – because HD seems to be quite demanding for editing and such.
The camera also takes 2.07 mega pixel photos too – even though this wasn’t my favourite I took today, it was the first one and thus shall be honoured… watch this space… it’s make or break for the project in the coming months!
